Many improvements!!!

It’s been quite a while, a lot of things to do.
I am finally finished with my first appendix on my online course, Animal Welfare and Ethics level 3. So excited!! I have just started on appendix number two, but I have to send the first one in and get it graded and approved before I can fully complete and send in the second one. =)
The next chapter is the Animal Body and Nutrient. This includes to Identify & Know the different nutrient groups & their structural components. Meaning, atoms, iron, sugar, calcium, oxygen, water, acids, fats, lipids and much more. This appendix will go in to the smallest molecule/ atom and show you how the body is affected and what is vital for the animals body. I have already read about protein and has now moved on to lipids (different kinds of fats).

My mum also competed in the Swedish Championship this weekend, and it went really well! so I just have to say Congratulations mummy!! :D Place 14!

Aria has moved up a level, literally. She still has her same spot, but now we moved her up onto a table so she will be higher up at all times. Already within the first couple of days she has improved a lot. Now we can walk past her as much we want and she is completely relaxed and even sleeps and doesn’t even notice us sometimes. Before she kept on waking up when we walked past and we must have looked so big to her! <3
She is also pretty much free around the house all evening time and she loves it. Even thou she has her energy times and flies around, she mostly just likes to sit around in different spots in really weird places, I guess that’s just the Barn Owl nature. :D
The other day we put a chair in out doorway and it didn’t take her long until she came and sat with us for about 5-10min. This is also a massive progress, that she shows interest in us and wants to know where we are. <3
We have come so far trust wise, that we tried letting her fly while out walking (attached to a leech and the glove of course!) Unfortunately we forgot our camera to record it but it was a lot of fun.

Even thou she only went to the closest landing spot and we had to pick her up and redo it, you could see that she didn’t need much, because she slept like a little baby when we came home. She didn’t even show any interest in wanting to fly free around the house. AriaTalk about brain exercise! :)
There has been so many improvements, another one is; I was airing out the house and had all the doors and windows open, the wind outside picked up REALLY fast  and for the first time (even thou she hasn’t reacted at all before to fireworks and really loud festivals from outside) I saw Aria panicking a bit, as soon as I walked passed she jumped towards me. As surprised as I was, I took the moment into action and picked up the glove! She saw what I did and didn’t even hesitate for 1 sec and jumped just under 1meter from her spot to the glove! She has never really jumped that far and eager before, I saw so happy, She saw me as safety!
A similar thing happened to my partner, but this wasn’t any reason at all she just wanted to come up and be free so she could fly around free in the house. Which she of course could! :)

That aside, on Friday me and my partner are going to Birmingham! My partner comes from Birmingham – England. Me myself have never been there before, so I am actually looking forward to the trip as well. Even thou we wish it would have been a normal vacation trip it is not. The reason to this trip is so we can to go to a family funeral. :(

I’m leaving names out out of respect, but I met him before when they came to visit us here in Malta, and he was a very nice man! May he rest in peace <3

What I’ve Done

Hi everybody!

Still working on reading my new book. Been quite busy lately, gonna try out for a new sales job, sigh*. Not really what I had in mind but a job is a job and you need money to pay the rent and have fun!!
Got up early this morning, kept my man company on the bus and while he went to work I headed to the Gym, Cynergi!
After 2h at the gym and a failed but nice breakfast with Eddie, Skype with mum I now sit here listening to a really good song! This video is amazing!! Even if you might not like the band (which I have a hard time believing that anyone ever would), just have a look at the video. =)

new adventures!

Today Aria has experienced fresh light rain and has been loose all day to fly around in the house. She is still picky with her food and doesn’t want to eat properly some times. But she still has a lot of energy and flies around, and she has decided her own favorite spot,  the curtain hanger right above the front door!

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Here we go again

What can i say? Here we go again, Elephant Ivory Disguised as Chocolate in China.
We have to stop this, stopping poachers is one thing, but i am starting to believe that we have to start focusing on dealing with the Chinese government!! African government are doing everything possible now. What I am wondering is; What is the Chinese government doing about this? How do they feel about this?
I think they are quite silence about this, yes they discover the load but then, nothing.? Increase the freedom of the Press China, they are here to help you. Let them write and hang out these people who are involved in this and give them security to stop this madness. Or do they have something to hide? Maybe that’s the question we should ask our self?

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!

I would like too announce that within the last 7 day 22 rhinos (between 3-4 a day!) has been killed by poachers. There are approximately only 20.400 white rhinos and only 5.000 black rhinos left in total in the whole of Africa!
I would also like to announce that there is about 3.300 Greater one-horned rhinos in Asia, less than 100 Sumatran Rhinos in Thailand, and the biggest of them all 35-45 Javan Rhinos in the whole Southeast Asia! (such as the Philippines)
Would like to congratulate all the poachers around the world! You are really succeeding with killing and slaughter!

You are breaking the law, in all ways possible and expect that everybody else should and are following the law. Well i can tell you this, a few days ago poachers got caught and ended up with 14 years in prison for killing 1 Rhino. Many say; because of no food or money. The laws are getting stronger and harder and will show you less and less mercy towards your actions!
If you have a family, what will happen to them if you go to prison? It sure ass hell won’t be easier for them! Think about that!

AHHHH!!!

Making the decision to move to Mellieha to get away from the 24h loud music in St. Julians felt like the right decision, to feel that you live in a normal society.
Now even with all windows and all doors closed I have to put up with such LOUD music that I can’t even think straight and a bird that keeps on waking up from her sleep because of it (and she is used to live with lovebirds!!), it is NOT cool! Really? you’re playing across the town and I can’t even hear my own music with closed doors!
Well I can get by but seriously! and on top of that, when the real festival is on they will have fireworks as well!
Have too keep a close eye on Aria when this so called Festival is starting, cause if it stresses me out imagine a bird that has a heart-rate at 3 times faster than my own, we will come up with an solution. Please think about the small children and all the animals, is there really a need to be so loud?

Times over

My sister left at 4 am this morning. After being at the Marsaslokk Sunday market and relaxing at the pool for the hole day we took her to the airport. What can I say, it’s always really fun when the family comes to visit but at the same time it’ just as sad when they have to leave. You always wish they can stay longer!

Love you Sis!

exploring

After renting a car, me and my sister have been driving around Malta and checking out different places. We have so far been in Mdina, Mellieha, St. Julians, Sliema, Xemxija and Bugibba. We went to Bugibba for5 evening dinner and tried out a new restaurant by the water, i can tell you that so fat I have never had such bad food during my time here! how hard can it be to make two greek sallads and a Hawaii pizza?
But yesterday we went to a Indian restaurant in Xemxija, which was really nice location and good food ( no as good as the Maharaja but nice food!). Afterward we went to a local pub in Mellieha to shoot some pool. :)
Today it’s Friday and we are going safe and we are taking Julia to one of our favorites, Tex Mex. Mexican food with some of the best drinks on the Island. But first relaxing and sunbathing in our pool!

YAY!

After chasing rental cars ALL DAY yesterday I finally had to give up. Since my sis arrived at 24.00 yesterday we had to take a taxi back home. But luckily we managed to book a car for 2 days from this morning!

Right now I’ve just come back from dropped of Eddie at work, since I haven’t been driving for quite a while and it is left traffic here on Malta and REALLY tight roads, I was a bit nervous I have to say.
Aria was not happy with us when we came back yesterday night, since we haven’t been home all day and turned on the lights when it’s supposed to be dark, she was a bit caught of guard.
Yesterday the heatwave started as well! and my sis is here. OBOY we’ll have so much fun! :D

Talk to you later!

Tada!
